Wiltshire’s new charter to tackle bullying

Wiltshire’s young people made a stand last week during national anti-bullying week by launching a new charter setting out how people can work together to tackle the causes and effects of bullying.

The Wiltshire Assembly of Youth, an elected group of young people who lobby Wiltshire Council for change, has helped to shape the charter, which they presented to councillors and members of the Wiltshire Children and Young People’s Trust last week.

Wiltshire Council works on a number of anti-bullying programmes, including partnering with The National Anti-Bullying Alliance and encouraging a number of schools to become anti-bullying special educational needs and disability champions.
