Wiltshire Walking Festival – September 4-13

Help us to celebrate walking and all the benefits of being involved in walking by taking part in some of the walking events and activities coming up soon around the county.

Get Wiltshire Walking Evening Walks – Monday 7 to Friday 10 September
Throughout the week there will also be the opportunity to join Get Wiltshire Walking walk leaders on evening walks that will start at 6pm in Trowbridge, Wootton Bassett, Devizes, Warminster, Ludgershall and Durrington. These walks will trace routes provided by the walking groups in these areas and give you a chance to get involved and enjoy a walk after work! Regular GWW programme – Monday 7 to Friday 10 September
During the week we will continue to deliver our weekly walks across every community area of the county for our regular walkers. See www.walkngforhealth.org.uk/getwiltshirewalking for details of our regular walks

The Big Walk – Saturday 12 September
Cllr Jon Hubbard will also be hosting The Big Walk, raising funds for two local charities, Help for Tomorrow and Young Melksham. Members of the public are welcome to join in with options to walk from Bath to Trowbridge or Devizes to Trowbridge, or simply start the walk closer to Trowbridge. Ramblers
The Ramblers have over 500 volunteer groups across England, Scotland and Wales, most of which run several walks every week. Experienced walk leaders will welcome you on every walk and they provide a safe, sociable and fun environment for you meet like-minded people. Bradford on Avon Walking Festival – Friday 4 to Sunday 6 September
Bradford on Avon is a ‘Walkers are Welcome’. This is a network of over 100 towns and villages across the UK that help people enjoy the outdoors through walking. Membership of the network helps to ensure that our footpaths and facilities are maintained in good condition to benefit local people and our many visitors.
