Wiltshire Public Health Awards 2016 – nominations now open

Nominations are open for this year’s public health awards being held to recognise and celebrate the quality of work of individuals, groups, organisations and businesses that help improve the health and wellbeing of Wiltshire’s local communities.

More than 190 nominations were received for last year’s awards, organised by Wiltshire Council, demonstrating how much high quality work is happening in the county.Anyone that is helping people live healthier lives in Wiltshire can be nominated. Nominees might, for example, include drop-in and advice services, dance classes in village halls, healthy workplace programmes, activities taking place in community centres, local schools, GP surgeries, parks or leisure centres.Any individuals involved in improvement of health and wellbeing for Wiltshire residents can be nominated. Nominees might, for example, support or provide drop-in and advice services, dance classes in village halls, healthy workplace programmes, activities taking place in community centres, local schools, GP surgeries, parks or leisure centres.

To nominate another organisation or individual the deadline for nominations is 18 April 2016. If people want to nominate their own work, the deadline is 27 April 2016.For the full list of award categories and to find out how to nominate, people should visit www.wiltshire.gov.uk/healthawards.The awards ceremony will be held on 8 June 2016 at County Hall, Trowbridge.
