Volunteers work hard to create a new viewpoint on Harnham Slope

A new viewpoint overlooking the cathedral is now complete with help from a grant from the Salisbury Area Board and the hard work of volunteers from the Friends of Harnham Slope (FOHS).

FOHS is a local community volunteer group that meets for workdays once a month to help maintain the valuable amenity asset of the wooded downland site of the Harnham Slope.

One of the Slope’s major assets is the views over the city and surrounding landscape.

Many walkers (and their dogs!) enjoy the views and the pathways which FOHS have kept clear over many years.Runners too find the pathways an ideal environment, far from the madding crowds, unforgiving pavements and roadways to exercise.
