Summer holiday sports camps for young people

Wiltshire Council’s summer holiday sports camp programme returns from July with a variety of camps available around the county for young people to take part in. All camps are intended to be fun, enjoyable and inclusive, and provide young people with challenges, games, coaching and competitions to take part in throughout the week.

Our very popular, week long, StarTrack Athletics camps are open to eight to 14 year olds and will take place in Salisbury, Tidworth, Marlborough and Chippenham. Young people will take part in various different athletic events, receiving coaching and tips on how to improve.

We’re delivering Sloggerz cricket camps at four locations within Wiltshire, in partnership with Wiltshire Cricket; these are three day camps taking place at Chilmark Cricket Club, Marlborough Cricket Club, Trowbridge Cricket Club and Malmesbury Cricket Club.

Week long SlamDunkz basketball camps for eight to 16 year olds are being delivered in Corsham, Trowbridge, Salisbury, Chippenham and Marlborough, while three day tennis camps, in partnership with Wiltshire Tennis are being run at Trowbridge Westbourne Tennis Club, Springfield Health & Wellbeing Centre in Corsham, Riverside Tennis Club in Salisbury, Royal Wootton Bassett Tennis Club and Ramsbury Tennis Club. These camps are open to six to 14 year olds.

Finally, in partnership with Swindon Town Football in the Community, there are three day football camps in Chippenham, Bradford on Avon and Marlborough which are aimed at five to 15 year olds.

All camps are open to boys and girls, and all abilities are encouraged to come along, regardless of previous experience. All days run from 10am to 3pm and children will need to bring a packed lunch and appropriate clothing. Many camps sell out quickly so get in touch to secure your space.

There is lots to get involved in so for more information about any of the camps, or to book, please contact sportsdevelopment@wiltshire.gov.uk or visit the website: www.wiltshire.gov.uk/sportholidayactivities.
