Salisbury’s ‘Question Time’ on child poverty

Salisbury’s ‘Question Time’ on child poverty

Many hundreds of people gathered in the Guildhall last night to an event organised by Salisbury’s charity Children’s Chance.  The event was a Question Time on the topic of child poverty.  Children’s Chance President Andrew Harvey chaired the panel, which consisted of the Rt Revd Nicholas Holtam, John Glen MP, Jill Kirby and Sir Al Aynsley Green.

It was clearly evident from the debate that Salisbury has many partners working hard to care and provide for the needs of children living in poverty in this city, which number around 1,000.

Tackling child poverty is one of the Salisbury area board’s community priorities, currently with a specific focus on 0-5 year olds.  For more information, please contact Karen Linaker on 01722 434697.
