Salisbury is set to spring clean

Well over 200 volunteers, young and old, are set to clean up Salisbury’s streets this weekend (despite the weather!).  Litter is an ongoing issue for our cities, towns and villages and volunteers regularly take to the streets to help clean up, but this weekend in particular is supported by the national Great British Spring Clean initiative.

St Martin’s School, Wyndham Park School, Leehurst Swan School, Police Cadets, village committees, residents groups, local councillors, youth groups, and a group of 5 year olds and their parents from Bishopdown Farm are all planning to help out.

This is a great initiative, which helps to remind us that litter is everyone’s responsibility and that local authorities couldn’t possibly keep Salisbury clean without voluntary support.

Thank you to all those taking part this weekend.

For further information about the litter picks taking place this weekend, or to sign up to get involved in future clean ups, please contact Karen Linaker on 01722 434697.
