The Salisbury Area Board has approved funding for the setting up of a junior gym for 11-17 year olds at the new Five Rivers Health & Wellbeing Centre. This will benefit 150 young people in Salisbury, with one session per week for a year. Additionally, the board has agreed funding for a “wellbeing project” to benefit 50 young people that are classed as “hard to reach” in Salisbury. This project includes gym membership and is intended to enable supported access to many of the facilities at Five Rivers.
Improving our young people’s access to leisure and positive activities is a key priority for the Salisbury Area Board, and there is so much on offer at the new Health & Wellbeing Centre that could benefit our young people. Further details on this scheme are available from Winnie Manning, Salisbury’s Community Youth Officer on 01722 434924.
