Recruiting Health Trainers in Salisbury

Wiltshire Council is seeking to employ enthusiastic Health Trainers to join the Public Health Team. We are recruiting two full time Health Trainers (37 hours per week) to work in and around the Salisbury and Amesbury area and a part time (18.5 hours per week) health trainer to work in the Warminster area.

Health Trainers support people in taking responsibility for improving their own health. This might include support on healthy eating (often linked to weight loss), stopping or reducing smoking, increasing physical activity, sensible drinking and general wellbeing, signposting and helping people access other services and support.

You will contribute to tackling inequalities in health through promoting and supporting people to develop healthier behaviours and lifestyles. Your role focuses on engaging with communities who are marginalised and who experience the greatest inequalities in health.

As a Health Trainer you will also support community health promotion events and projects as required by the public health team.
