In October 2016, Wiltshire Council’s Cabinet agreed to make savings of £500k from its public transport budget, whilst maintaining 97% of the supported bus journeys across Wiltshire. These savings are being achieved by reviewing those bus services that have a subsidy per passenger trip of more than £3.50, which is the maximum permitted in the Council’s public transport policy. Unfortunately, the existing Connect2 Wiltshire services in the Pewsey area are proving very expensive to provide and exceed this maximum subsidy level, so are therefore part of this review. A bus service will remain, but it may operate less frequently than at present. Your views on the proposed changes are important and we would appreciate your comments at the link below.
