Research by the Woodland Trust shows that less than 17% of the population of England has access to local woodland within 500m of their home. In Wiltshire this figure is even lower at 9%.
Providing more accessible trees, woods and green space can therefore provide a critical link to healthier lives in Wiltshire and, consequently, to saving money.
