Find the information you need about health and social care in Wiltshire

New features have been added to a comprehensive one-stop shop website to help people find information about local health and social care.

Following feedback from people saying that they need access to information about health and care so that they can live more independently and live well in their own community, Wiltshire Council in partnership with Healthwatch Wiltshire developed a health and social care information website to help to meet these needs.

Your Care Your Support Wiltshire, which launched last year, was developed with the help of local people and Voluntary and Community Sector groups and has a wealth of information for people on all aspects of care and support in the county.

This includes:

  • an overview of health and social care in Wiltshire
  • how to access care and support in Wiltshire
  • paying for care and support services including financial advice
  • what clubs, groups and services are available in the community
  • what to do if someone is being treated badly

Since the website went live new features have been added making it easier for people to find what they are looking for.

People can now create their own guides and view videos on different topics such as how to keep warm and well. Online forms are also now available for self-assessments and applying for a Carers Emergency Card.

Wiltshire Council corporate director Maggie Rae said: “If you’re looking care in your local area to support to help you live independently, this website is full of useful and easy to access information.

“The site is constantly being updated and developed to make sure it continues to be relevant and extremely worthwhile for local residents.”

Wiltshire Council cabinet member for adult care, Keith Humphries said: “The care sector is going through a period of significant change so now more than ever people need to know where they can find all the latest information.

“This website has everything in one handy place and is a fantastic resource.”

Chief Executive of Healthwatch Wiltshire, Emma Cooper said “Local people tell us that they find it difficult to find information about health and care when they need it and our hope is that this new website will help to make information more accessible.  “We have asked local people what should be included on the site and how they want it to look and we are continuously updating it.  Please do get in touch with us to let us know what you think of it and if there is anything missing or which could be improved.”

The website can be found at www.yourcareyoursupportwiltshire.org.uk
