Christmas in Salisbury

Christmas in Salisbury is a magical time. With a wide-range of city events, plenty of opportunities to do some relaxed Christmas shopping and lots of festive activities, make time for Salisbury this Christmas.

Salisbury Christmas Market in the historic Guildhall Square is one of the main city attractions at this time of year. This year’s market will be taking place between 24 November and 18 December.

As well as popular annual events such as the Christmas Lights Switch On, the Launch of the Christmas Market and the Lantern Procession, this year will see some brand new events around the city, such as a Walk in Snow Globe in the Old George Mall and regular walk about entertainers to keep Christmas shoppers entertained.

Take a look at our What’s On pages for events and activities at some of Salisbury’s top attractions, including the Advent Procession at Salisbury Cathedral, the pantomime Aladdin at Salisbury Playhouse and the Christmas Tree Festival at St Thomas’ Church.

For some relaxed Christmas shopping, why not follow the Salisbury Star Trail? This festive shopping trail will lead you around the city to shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants offering special offers to those showing their Star Trail map at the till. For extra discounts, keep your eyes peeled for the digital advertising van that will be driving around the city every Thursday and Saturday between 24 November and 22 December! And why not come into town on 1 December to make the most of the Salisbury Independents late night opening, with special offers for one day only!

Soak up the festive atmosphere in the wealth of pubs, restaurants or cafes in Salisbury and take a look at our accommodation pages to find somewhere to stay and make a break of it.
