Charity single release for SANDS UK

Charity single release for SANDS UK

Nichola Humpage:

In October 2009 my son Noah Joseph was tragically born sleeping. In the truly horrific months/year(s) that followed I thankfully found The charity SANDS.  They showed me that I wasn’t alone and that there were tragically so many people who I could talk to who knew exactly how I was feeling.

They also made me aware of the harrowing facts and figures regarding stillbirth and neonatal death.
Every day in the UK, 17 babies are stillborn or die shortly after birth.

SANDS believe that many of these deaths are preventable, and that this level of baby loss is completely unacceptable. Sands work hard to raise awareness of stillbirth and neonatal death, both with the general public and health professionals, but also with key decision makers around the UK.

Obviously In order to continue with the amazing work which they do, they need support and they need funds.

Since my son was born I have been trying to raise, not only funds but also awareness about what is still very much a taboo subject.

I have organised various events at work and this year embarked upon 6 adrenaline/endurance challenges and so far raised over £1500.

Unfortunately, I have recently been diagnosed with ME and therefore have not been able to complete all of the challenges within the originally planned time scale! We have however made a start and will continue with the challenges as soon as my health allows. Details of the challenges can be found here:

Eager to do something else in the interim which would not impact upon my health too much, I got my thinking cap on!

I am a singer/song writer and a member of local acoustic trio The elusive bright. We have written many original songs together and last year released an ep which was well received.

So Sticking with what I know and love, I decided to try and write a song which was inspired by the birth of my son and the difficultly that anyone who has lost a loved one faces at this festive time of year.

Working with my friend and band member Mike Taylor, we have written what I truly feel is a beautiful song which is called Call to you.

The song tells the story of having a wish granted to spend one more night with a loved one who is no longer with us.

SANDS are fully supportive of the campaign/ song and are happy to be contacted to verify my details or to answer any questions which you may have about their work.

I feel that the song speaks to anyone who has lost a loved one and that you will hopefully enjoy listening to it as well as contributing to a wonderful cause.

The song is available to download via Apple music and also at the following sites:

Google play-

The song will also be available via I-tunes very shortly.

Sending thanks and wishing you all a Merry Christmas.
