Celebrating the 800th anniversary of the Magna Carta

The Wiltshire and Swindon History Centre in Chippenham have been preparing for two exhibitions coming up to mark the 800th anniversary of the Magna Carta. The archive conservation team have been working to conserve four 13th century parchment documents, the earliest dating from 1220 and preparing them for display at an exhibition at Salisbury Cathedral.
Three original documents normally held at the Wiltshire and Swindon History Centre will be on show at Lacock Abbey in June and July supported by a display illustrating life in Wiltshire in the 13th century and the impact of Magna Carta.
