More families in Wiltshire join SHINE Wiltshire this term

The SHINE Wiltshire Summer programmes in Chippenham, Trowbridge, Salisbury and Tidworth have started with 22 new families signed up! The families will be looking at the importance of ‘5 a day’, exercise, portion sizes and healthy lunchboxes this term. They will also be experiencing and having a go at some different activities such as swimming, park games, walking and using pedometers!

Last term saw SHINE Wiltshire supporting 15 families to choose healthier and feel healthier. With a new programme starting in Tidworth this term we have welcomed families ready and eager to learn some hints and tips to lead healthier lifestyles for the whole family. SHINE is a 10 week support programme that looks at healthy lifestyles in a way that is fun, involving and interactive. It is educational but delivered in a child friendly manner. The programme is specifically designed for children who are above their healthy weight.

A mum from Trowbridge said: “It is relaxed and friendly, where no judgements are made just support offered. I would highly recommend this programme which is delivered at the perfect pace and level for all aged children. You make great friends and it is already changing my children’s attitude towards a healthy lifestyle. We are on a healthy journey and it has already had a positive impact on our family”
