2016 festival of learning

Learning in Wiltshire wants to invite Wiltshire’s communities and families to join in with the 2016 Festival of Learning, being held from May 28 – June 18. This is a chance to involve local communities with free, informal learning activities with a focus on trying something new and finding out about further learning in the area. We are offering community clusters and children’s centres the opportunity to bid for £150 to hold a signposting event to engage with your communities’ groups and families.

The Festival of Learning is a celebration of lifelong learning. We know that adults who continue to learn throughout their lives are healthier, happier and have greater self-confidence and self-esteem. This is an opportunity to show how adult learning improves and enhances social cohesion, economic vitality and social mobility and offers excellent role model opportunities too. You should be able to promote further learning for all. The ‘Have a Go’ (step into learning) theme can offer a chance for specific groups and families to have fun together and to provide information on what’s available locally.  For more information, contact Karen Linaker on 01722 434697.
