Community reporters wanted

Do you love living in Salisbury?  Area you passionate about this community?  If so, Salisbury Community Matters is looking to recruit volunteer reporters to help keep local people informed about what is going on in the City.

Community Reporting is a fun way to share good news stories about your life and all the positive activities that are happening in their wider community…using words, pictures, video or audio! It is easy to learn and you will be supported every step of the way.  You will meet up regularly with other reporters to plan campaigns and share ideas for future stories.

You might be a job seeker, you might be newly retired, on your gap year or you might simply have a few hours on your hands.  If so, we will provide you with training and the equipment you need to become one of Salisbury’s first wave of volunteer community reporters.

Your role will be to seek out interesting news, attend events and activities, talk to participants, record them on video and post your stories online, on this site – where thousands of people will view your work.   And soon, we hope to offer time credits for each post you make – that means you will receive vouchers you can use at many local attractions – including City Hall, the Leisure Centre and many more.

All Community Reporters receive a badge when they’ve completed the training – this shows they understand how to post content online that fits with our Editorial Guidelines and other ‘best practice’ guidelines, such as how to approach people for interviews and how to stay safe with kit.

If this sounds like something you might be interested in, please get in touch.
